Rocky Mountain Customs-a Bikernet Brouhaha Winner!
From time to time, I will be putting up information on shops that I think do an exceptional
job…from builds to customer service. Chuck over at Rocky Mountain Customs is one of those
builder/shops. Chuck Shortt works on ALL bikes from metric cruisers, to American V-Twins and
sports bikes. Check out the link at the bottom to see photos and for more information.
Rocky Mountain Customs (RMC) is a complete motorcycle repair and fabrication
facility located in Larkspur, CO. At RMC, whether you are interested in building a bike from
ground up, repairing bodywork from an accident or restoring a vintage bike, they will put your
dreams to life, making your bike truly unique. RMC specializes in painting services from stock to
extreme; they strive to express customer’s individuality and will customize the bike to match the
rider’s style and attitude.
Recently Rocky Mountain Customs participated in the Bikernet Brouhaha in Sturgis. RMC took
Best-in-class and best in paint overall for the show. Builder Chuck Shortt, owner of Rocky
Mountain Customs, has built sport bikes and retro fitted metric bikes with custom parts for
nearly three decades.
Currently Chuck is working on a Board Tracker styled bike with a single cylinder 650cc slanted
metric engine. The engine was in a race bike that Chuck road raced in Open Single Super Bike
years ago.
“I wanted to use this motor in something that would be unique but custom,” exclaims Chuck. “I'll
have it done by spring for all the summer shows so look for it. It should be pretty cool.”

Rocky Mountain Customs-a Bikernet Brouhaha Winner!
Chuck Shortt, Owner of Rocky Mountain Customs is a master painter and
builder. In these poor economic times, where other shops are downsizing
and laying off, Chuck and his team have expanded. HOW? He is very
diverse in what he works on. Chuck can build you and award winning
Harley, a custom sports bike or DRAG BIKES! The pictures here are of a
bike that he and his friend are putting together. I don't know much but I
know that it is a Kawi and it is blown and has nitro.....uh...that is going to go
fast if they can keep the motor together. I will bring you more updated
pictures of the bike soon and more on Rocky Mountain Customs. These are
great people working hard at what they love. Check them out when in
Colorado.
